Running on parental rights  and academic excellence.  Her  grassroots run won her the  election with 1,210 votes, beating the incumbent opponent by just 8 votes. Her victory was certified by the Kern County Elections Office on December 5, 2024, and by the Kern County Board of Supervisors on December 10, 2024. However, a discrepancy involving 120 ballots sent to incorrect voters has sparked a challenge. However, a discrepancy involving 120 ballots sent to incorrect voters has sparked a challenge.

In Kern County Superior Court,  attorneys for the County elections office and Greenfield Union School District proposed to erase the election results and leave the position vacant—or appoint a temporary trustee—until this issue is resolved..  Jeannette knew they would strip Mercy from her seat if we didn’t get an attorney. We needed an election attorney that cost thousands of dollars. We sat in a coffee shop asking God what do we do? Due to Jeannette’s contact with Real Impact.US, associated with Pastor Jack Hibbs ,we were able to obtain an election attorney that took our case. Two days later  we had to file a brief against the county and school district . Attorney Robert Tyler of Faith-Freedom took our case. We have had 3  Superior court hearings. On the Friday after the 3rd hearing we heard the Judge decided in our favor ( a miracle of God) and she is to keep her seat. We now have our last hearing in August to finally settle all issues.
