October 6, 2025  in a majority opinion of the Kern High School District Board of Trustees , one of the biggest high school districts in the US, voted 3-2 committed to upholding fairness, safety, and equal opportunities for all student-athletes. Protecting the integrity of girls sports is essential to maintaining an even playing field for female athletes and preserving the intent of Title IX. They call for the athletic governing bodies to uphold Title IX protections for fairness and safety of girls.  They will be sending the resolution to the Governor, CIF other government entities. The resolution was brought forth by Trustee Derek Tisinger. Those trustees in favor of this vote were: Derek Tisinger, Kathy Scrivner and J. Bryan Batey. Approximately 12 citizens spoke for this resolution in support of Title IX and of the issues many girls are facing. Bakersfield Christian High School recently forfeited their girls volleyball game against Ridgeview High School learning there was a boy on Ridgeview’s team. BCHS stated “We do not agree with or conform to the rules and policies that conflict with our biblical understanding of sex and gender.” The Kern County Board of Education was the first board in Kern County to support Title IX  on August 12, 2025 when they unanimously voted and signed a resolution 6-0 to enact Title IX in its original intent-protecting girls in female sports by stating no boys would compete against girls.

As of this date 16 schools and Districts support Title IX fairness in girls interscholastic sports.
